I took mine into a local Gander Mountain to remove it. The guy there even said it was a beast to loosen up! No way I was trying it myself. You would be best served to take it into a local gun shop.
Yeah...I took mine to a local Gander Mountain on Friday to have them remove the flash hider. No way I was gonna try it myself and ruin the gun. Even the guy there said it was a beast to remove.
It clearly varies. I was told in one of my local WMs to check at 7:30pm. At another WM I was told to check at like 7:00am or some such like some of you guys say. Who knows...
Excellent. I'm not so much interested in co-witnessing as just plain functionality. There is a gun show coming up soon and I'll probably take the rifle in with the red dot and try different risers to get what I want.
Thanks again for your input!
No worries. Since I have decided to put my Walther P22 red dot on my 15-22, I am thinking (based on what Im reading) that the medium size riser would work.
The idea is to able to use the red dot, but if it is turned off, i can see see through it and used the iron sights.
I am presuming this...
I figured that. I am more interested in the ability to use both an optic piece as well has having the ability to use the iron sights. I am interesting in being able to have both 100% functional, as in being able to look through the optics, but being able to lower yourself down a bit and use...
What if you used this High Profile Riser? would you be able to see through the hole in this and use MBUS sights?

This will probably open a can of worms, but what do you all recommend for some good rail covers? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, but am interested in your favorites.
Thanks in advance!
The idea of being able to use open sights and optics is in case the optics fail. My dad always argued for it. As a former ranger/marksman, he never liked having to sacrifice open sights for optics.
That is why Im interested in the best way to go about having both that would be completely...
I am interesting in putting a set of Magpul flip-up sights on my 15-22 along with some optics, either a small scope or red dot. I prefer to have the ability to use BOTH the open sights as well as the optics WITHOUT removing the optics. Would a set of see-thru scope rings be high enough to...
Seems to already be answered, but I'll say as a left handed shooter, my 15-22 does NOT throw brass in my face when firing. I have worse brass in my face with my M-14.
