Which .44 Magnum would you buy

Well, depends on the end use. My mix right now is a 629-4 MG, a 7.5” RH and a 7.5” SRH in 480 Ruger. My brother just bought a Mod 69 and I have a criticism of it. Been shooting it some and find it hits quite hard in the lower part of the strong hand lower side of the wrist. Using my MG as a...

I'll have to work on the picture thing ........ I have been promising to get that going through many acquisitions that have occured in part because of this forum ........ and well, Smith & Wessons just have that draw don't they?? KLYDE is right, I have no guilt what so ever on the two I bought...

    14-3

Brought home an 8 3/8" model 14-3 last week. Bought it from a deceased friend's estate from his widow who dislikes guns ....... $250 and that was their asking price ......... to me it was a no dicker sticker. The revolver has muzzle blueing wear on both sides ...... a bit of a gouge on the...

    Pet Loads For 44Mag?

Besides the 8.5 of Unique and 20 to 20.5 grains of 2400 with standard primers only in the latter behind a RCBS 250K cast bullet ........... I really like: HS-6 @ 11.8 gr. or thereabouts behind the same lit off with a magnum primer. That HS-6 powder is TOPS!! Three 44s

    Looking at another Model 48

35Rem, No, just Obama bucks! I wish the family would have taken the slow route on selling this collection because their and my mutual friend and I would have been glad to help them get these weapons up on forums like this one and get them their just desserts ........ but the widow wants the...

    Looking at another Model 48

OKAY, that line waiting to kick me into action can disperse now! LOL!! In fact, you'd drool some more. I brought home the 48-3 for the agreed price of $300 night before last. I am no collector but it's likely a 90% and it's an 8 3/8". The fellow poster that said it would be a good balance...

    Looking at another Model 48

LOL!! Tell me about it. Four years ago, I reluctantly dished out $450 for my six inch with box. It's about 99.25%. And it's gone up from there! I look at my first and can't bear to use it!!! As far as it's capabilities in the field. Between peting jobs I did manage to drill a ground...

    Looking at another Model 48

You are going to hate me! While I don't know about the box and I have not seen the revolver yet, a good friend says it's in good shape. While it's listed as a 8 3/8" my friend thought it might be a six inch. I know ..... you'd think he was "raised better" .......... LOL!! They are asking...

Hmmmm ..... no ........... LOL!! Seeing that Three 44s beats a pair of 48's ........ I think I'll hang onto the current handle!! The truth is that I don't have three 44s right now ......... I do have two .41 mags, two .44 mags and a .480 Ruger ..........in a Ruger SRH ....... (traded one .44...

    Looking at another Model 48

I am checking on what would be a second "48" for me and I was wondering what approximate vintage this gun would be: It's a 8K777XX and is said to be sporting an 8 3/8" barrel. I appreciate the suggests by all about buying the "book" but I am by no means a heavy collector. Thanks in advance...

S&W 48-4 - Suggestions on Ammunition? Photo Added 28 May

You made one heck of an acquisition there! And that mod 48 has a good home!! I also found my 48-4 likes CCI the best. My Marlin rifle likes old school Win. ammo in 40 JHP the best. The differences are like night and day!! Best regards Three 44s

    Breaking in a new revolver

Use Tetra gun cleaner/lube for your trigger and other moving parts. Remove the grip and use Gunscrubber to flush out internals as lubes get dirty and sticky over time. Re-lube with Tetra gun. I prefer to leave the side plate alone unless it's absolutely necessary. Three 44s
