Its definitely stock, black plastic guide rod. I think that I may have had it seated wrong like Lee said. Its all fixed and I dont have the broked pieces. I hope to take it back out soon. Thanks for all the input
Ok, I went up to Shooters as soon as they opened this morning. Their gunsmith took a look at it and cut the guide rod spring to get the gun apart. He checked everything over and replaced the guide rod and spring for me right then and there and told me I was good to go. So, I didnt have to send...
I was thinking about calling them and seeing if I could buy a new rod, but after a little bit more though, I'm just going to send it to them. The spring inside is keeping me from field stripping it or pulling the slide back, so I'm definitely sending it in.
Today was only the second day shooting my 9ve and the guide rod broke. I've only shot about 200 rounds and 50 of them were today. I called the dealer that I bought it from immediately and they said to bring it in during the week and they will send it to S&W to get it fixed, so I'm going to go up...
I think you may be refering to the crimson trace laser that goes around the trigger guard. I think its pretty cool looking.
