I purchased a used 1010 scale at a really good price, but..... the adjustment decal that says "tenths" on the right end of the beam is missing.

Has anyone ever requested/received a replacement decal from RCBS and installed it? It looks simple to do, even for an ole shaky guy like me.

Thanks,

Leon

Instead of asking if anyone has done this why don't you just call RCBS in the morning and ask them if they can provide the index sticker? 800-379-1732

If this is the scale I'm thinking of with the circular adjustment - they were made by Ohaus & haven't been produced in a number of years i.e about 30 or so. Not something you'll find every day.

Already have a email sent to them, never hurts to double up on some things.

Yes it is the one with the circular adjustment. RCBS discontinued them in 2014, there are still a few new ones in stock at some of the larger reloading suppliers.

Make sure you check the calibration with good check weights. It's a good idea to check every scale on occasion with calibrated weights.

That plastic cover is a design disaster- cant use it unless you remove the beam & pan - putting more wear and possible damage to the knife edge. Then you have to go thru contortions to store it and put it back together. Only good if you are storing for extended period.

If not available from RCBS then there are lots of decal-sticker makers probably local and on-line. Give them the measurements, colors, and text and I bet they can recreate one.

I have an old Redding scale with the same issue; my own fault. I bought it used and it was pretty cruddy. I was cleaning it up with something that didn't agree with the calibration label and some of it is now unreadable. Would love to have a "fix" for this to have it as a backup to my Lyman.

RCBS came through. I received an email today. The "tenths" label is on the way, along with re-calibration instructions.

Can't beat that.

Leon
