How long is your pocketknife?

My state has virtually no knife laws that would limit what a person can carry.
Yet, I still carry my Doug Ritter/Benchmade folder that I carried when I lived with lots of laws/rules.

My KME sharpening "system" keeps it dangerous sharp.

Benchmade #164CM. Can’t tell you the model name though.
Blade is about 3 3/8” long. To date the best pocket knife I have owned. Rugged and holds an edge as long as I keep it honed.
When I realized the pocket clip knives allowed me carry a bigger blade more comfortable than a non clip I moved to the larger blade.

I rotate mine on a regular basis. Anywhere from 2.75 to 4". Now that they are legal in Michigan, I usually carry an auto but there are some VERY quick spring assisted models out there. :)

Benchmade Rukas 615

Nothing special. An older made in Taiwan Schrade Extreme. Before they had to remove the lock that violated a patent, Benchmade's I think. I won't carry an automatic or assisted that doesn't have a lock that will keep it closed, a lock that's intuitive to operate. I've had assisted openers and an automatic open in my pocket. This one works for me and it's the knife I usually carry. I do carry a different knife when out of state as some places aren't automatic friendly. I think this knife is about the perfect utility size:

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 with 2.3" blade is my EDC.

multi-tool in the car console.

I carry a Randall Triathlete most of the time so 6.5" total and 3.25" blade length.

A small CRKT takes its place when I can't carry the Randall.

I've been carrying the Kershaw Brawler 1990, with a 3" blade for the last several years. The blade is a bit on the thicker side and has stood up to some use and abuse pretty well. It's big enough to be comfortable to hold and use, but not too big to be bulky in the pocket. It replaced the Kershaw P30 that I carried for a short time. It was nice but just felt a bit small to me.

I frequently carry more than one, and there are two in my daily carry satchel. The one knife that's always on me is a traditional, large stockman pattern 3-blade. I have several - Case, Uncle Henry, Boker, and others. Current carry is a Buck.

Te main reason I had the blade shortened on my Delica, for those locations with more restrictive laws/rules. I jokingly refer to it as my "Post Office" knife since the maximum length blade you can carry in a PO is 2.5". I originally had it done specifically for those situations, but I like the profile so much it's become my EDC even if I can carry something longer.

I'm very fortunate in that Texas passed a law a few years ago eliminating blade length limits.

I own both Spyderco Delica and Endura knives. I'd hate to cut either down. I can now wear my longer sheath knives while hunting or camping, hiking, etc. I have a Fallkniven NL-2 with about an eight-inch blade and Buck Model 120's with blades a bit over seven inches.

A father in Big Bend Natl Park had to defend his six-year-old son from a cougar with a Delica. The blade was too short for a lethal wound, but the injuries it inflicted drove the cougar away. The kid needed considerable stitches, but survived.

Thanks for posting the blade limit to carry in a Post Office. I'd been looking for that. Postal workers I asked didn't know. Guess I shouldn't be surprised, as one also didn't know the difference between Austria and Australia when I mailed a package to a friend in Austria...

Tell us about the handle scales on the Victorinox Tinker. Can you post photos of the knife out of the sheath? That's quite remarkable!
