How long is your pocketknife?

Tell us about the handle scales on the Victorinox Tinker. Can you post photos of the knife out of the sheath? That's quite remarkable!

I bought them from remadeknives.com Site looks to be down though searching remadeknives shows a Facebook and eetsy presence though

Thanks!

Do you know which handle material was used on the Vic. Tinker?
Do you recall the price?

CRKT M 21 14 SFG, a Carson designed folder. Closed it is 5 1/2 inch long and the semi serrated blade is about 4 inch.Carried not inside the pocket (too visible) , but inside the waistband under the belt.Nobody ever noticed it in 4 + years.

I have a Victorinox Tinker 91mm IIRC.
As a lady, it is often carried inside a pocket in my handbag than in my trousers pocket though :p:D

I carried a Buck 110 from 78 to 96 and never had a problem with the police
in NYC, try that today. actually did use it once on a steak in one of those fancy steak houses in NYC. When I got done the wife used it on her steak.
When I first moved to Louisiana I carried a Buck gator. Now a Benchmade Griptilian. Frank

I rarely have day to day need for a knife. But, when I do, I reach in my pocket and take out my little friend ... Bench made Auto-Benchmite. Blade is 1.95 inches long ... just right to not present a problem in California ... if I should ever go there. In GA, it's not an issue. Now, when I am out working in the yard, etc., I doing things where I might need a good knife, I carry a Benchmade Auto-Presidio. Blade length is about 3.25 inches. Not likely to pass muster in California, but in GA, not an issue. Sincerely. bruce.

Living in a country that has banned carrying any blade sucks. The fine if you are caught with a pocket knife in public is $1500, so all my knives stay at home.

Thanks. So sorry to hear that.

Can't at least hunters, fishermen, and hikers carry knives?

Ray-

What are Brazilian knife laws like? Is social disapproval of a knife a big thing, as well as laws?

It sounds as if your knife might fall through your waistband, but I guess you find its secure.

I know there are a number of custom knifesmiths in Brazil. Can sheath knives be worn in public at all? By fishermen or campers? You said before that hunting has become all but totally illegal there.

Are gaucho knives, associated more with Argentina, worn by Brazilian cowboys?

As to the social issues involved I really don´t know, for nobody sees it or ever saw it. It´s well hidden but probably would scare someone if I drew it. It´s an emergency tool and no, it´s worn tip down with the clip fastened to the trouser brim (?) itself with the belt going over it, helping to conceal it even more. With the right hand thumb inside the trouser exerting pressure on the belt, the remaining fingers reach for the bottom of the knife and push it up. It´s quite fast.
I guess the limit now is about 10 cm but they won´t find it unless I´m searched.
Belt knives I think would raise hell, but there are small not locking folding knives carried in a leather sheath. They are very common in the State of Minas Gerais .I have one in which I sometimes carry a Kershaw Wildcat Ridge lockback folder. I´ll try to do a pic of it later. These are generally OK with the police. My recently Buck 110 is also a prized possession.
As for the gauchos in the outback I think they carry everything they wish but not in big cities.
Hunting of native species is still outlawed.

How severe are French knife laws? I've read that guards in some grocery stores confiscate pocket knives, at least while one shops. I suppose they must use metal detectors. ?? I guess that Ray doesn't much encounter those in Argentina.

I have the Leatherman Wave, I found myself needing more than just a blade, So I came up with this and found a Leatherman with a clip... Both blades are right at 3 inches...
