Went to one of the local Walmarts today for some other items and as usual walked through sporting goods. The clerk had just put on the shelf a small case of CCI Stingers. Asked if there was a purchase limit. He said no - but I only bought 2 - 50 round packs @ $6.78 each. (I am not a hoarder or flipper.) Asked if he got any other ammo on the truck - Nope. Haven't seen Stingers in a long time. Good food for the 15-22. They will shoot Stingers as long as they are not a performance center model.

Apparently I got there at the right time as all aisles in all departments were filled with pallets of goods waiting to go on the shelves as if the truck had just arrived. Unusual for a Saturday!

I did a similar play at Cabalas.
Got 500 rounds of Mini Mags.
$46.05.
Last time I circled through Sporting Goods at Walmart,
They only had a small amount of Shotgun shells.
28 Gauge?
Yes!

Nice score. I have bought Mini-Mags all summer and fall from Walmart, and on Friday they had just got in maybe 8,000 rounds.
Mini-Mags, Stingers, bulk packs of Golden Bullets, Remington Subsonics and a few boxes of .22 Mag. All at "normal" pre panic prices.
I bought 5 of the Golden bulk packs, all will be used by me throughout the year.

I wonder why some Walmarts are still getting .22 and some aren't ?
Maybe they have a bunch sitting at their distribution warehouse and they only send it to stores if the management requests it ?

Shelves Barren

The other day our Walmart just had 8 boxes of 350 Legend, what ever that is,
and the Expensive Duck hunting Shotgun Shells, I just thought it
was kind of weird and funny.

This will be the Way, for a long time.

VaTom, congratulations on being able to score some Stingers. They are, by far, the most accurate rounds I shoot from my Ruger Standard. They create a nice muzzle flame, too. And more congratulations on leaving some for others!

Good to hear. Gotta check out the one near me for CCI 22 mag. Got em last summer for $10.50 per 50 and $20 for that 100 round milk carton style box. Lot cheaper than my LGS at $18 for Hornady 45 grain 50 round box! Pays to stock up when possible. Me thinks tougher times are coming concerning pricing especially.

Thanks! I still have a few boxes of stingers left from last shortage. I also can use in my Marlin Golden 39a, Remington 572 pump and S&W 63. Since two boxes seems to be the "universal" limit I thought it was only fair to leave some for others. Pay it forward! I have more .22 ammo than other calibers so that is what I have been shooting lately. These days it is just being in right place and right time.

This thread reminds me that I need to reactivate a field grade High Standard auto pistol (to go with the K22) and put a 22 conversion into my AR so I can actually get some quality shooting time in without using up my finite supply of 9mm and 223 ammo. I'm sorta sad to set the Franken-Smith aside, but the ammo situation being what it is, I can't just freely shoot it or an AR as I did in "normal" times. Thank heavens for bulk boxes of ammo being available in the not-too-distant past. "Buy 'em cheap and stack 'em deep."

Stopped by the LGS this morning and bought 4 50rd boxes (store limit) of Aguila Super Extra .22lr for $11.00 then drove over to Walmart and bought 200rds each of CCI Min Mags and Winchester .22lr for $32.00...almost felt like I'd hit the lottery.

I think Walmart is getting some ammo shipments but may not be available to everyone. My brother was at one yesterday and asked the guy if they had any .22 in the back as the glass cases were totally empty not one box of anything. Worker then proceeded to get the little round funny looking keys and open a cabinet under the front counter and out popped 5 boxes of mini mags. Worker then said “here you go Mr Jenkins. Sheila told me you were coming.” Only problem is our last name is not Jenkins.

My brother said thanks and bought them all. No doubt the “real” Mr Jenkins was disappointed.

My local Wally World hasn't had ammo of any kind any time I've been there the last few months.

They had some Mini mags last week and I bought 2 boxes, but my local store is usually empty. Yesterday there wasn’t one box of any caliber on the shelf. A completely empty ammo case. Sad.

I like the Stinger ammo but I like the 40gr Velocitor HP even more. It packs a bigger punch than the 32gr Stinger ammo and I find it just as accurate.

My 10-22 does not like Stingers. But loves Mini-Mags.

My local Walmart has gotten out of guns and ammo. They have cleared out everything and put fishing reels in the gun case.

LOL, maybe the worker inadvertently gave away the secret code. I'm going to go to my local Walmart, (which never has any ammo), and tell the worker in the empty ammo section, "Hello, my name is Jenkins. Sheila said you had some ammo for me." If he unlocks a cabinet under the counter and hands me a bunch of ammo, then the code has been broken. Everyone going to Walmart should try it. If it works, grab all you can before Walmart resets the code!
