I'm a new member, I really enjoy the 38 caliber models. I prefer 4 inch barrels.
I was in an accident last year and damaged both wrists.
I can shoot higher calibers but after 10-12 rounds I get sore.
I can do my 64-5 just fine. I also have a Walther P22CA for most of my range shooting. With Oregon law it is time consuming to buy a firearm and wait for the background checks.
I have always wanted a 4 inch model 10, but they are stupidly expensive here. I found a LE trade in DAO model 64-5 and I feel like I got the holy grail for me.
We do family day at the range with our son and daughter in law plus our 2 older grandsons.
My grandson wants a 38 like mine. The bull barrel makes recoil manageable. I've loaded 2 rounds on my 38 and let my 12 year old grandson shoot it. He thinks my 64 is "really a fun shooter"

I have two .38 Spl revolvers, but hardly ever shoot them. one is a 5-shot Taurus snub nose, 2- inch barrel, the other is a 5-shot Rossi round butt with a 3" barrel. The actions pretty much suck on both, rather notchy. I have four S&W .357M's, much nicer to shoot, smooth triggers, and can shoot .38 Spl from them when I want. Pretty cool, your grandson liking the .38. That's a sizeable gun for him.

I'm in, I have a 642, a Model 10 and a RIA M200 4" (which to my pleasant surprise is a very nice shooter for $200.00).

I have at least a dozen, double that if you count .357s that usually shoot .38 Specials. I’m carrying one now.

Does anyone here NOT have at least one?

This is my 1st year issue Model 67 (Stainless version of Model 15). I really like this revolver.

I've had more, but have four .38s right now. Double if you want to count the .357s.

There are lots of shooters out there who don't own a true .38 but shoot scads of them through .357s. They like the versatility and how .357s are usually built stronger.

I have only a single 38 special revolver, a 642. I do have a number of other handguns and some rifles in 357 mag that can use the 38s.

Model 10-7 snub (former service revolver), Model 60 no dash, & ‘68 Colt Cobra. My EDC is a 340PD, actually a .357, but loaded w/+P. I shoot them often & practice w/my EDC as often as possible.
