Edited Photo of Princess Kate and the Kids

My wife follows the royal family. She's not retired yet, so I often forward stuff I see to her email so she can look at it when she gets home from work. The UK papers (and a couple of US news sites) are going absolutely nuts about what seems to me to be a trivial, nit-picking affair. I have trouble thinking anything beyond "So What" and "Get a Life", but this affair seems to be a real crisis for our cousins across the pond. The way the journalists in the UK are approaching it, you'd think they think they're Woodward and Bernstein of Watergate fame.

People lose their collective minds over the weirdest, most trivial things. They are essentially lambasting Princess Kate for doing what three-quarters of the moms on Facebook already do - edit, crop, add a filter (or whatever) to their kids' pictures to make them look just a little bit better when they post them. This is where they choose to draw their Line In The Sand??? Amazing...

When I was in High School we all had to have pics taken for the senior yearbook. All were photoshopped to make us look better. What's the big deal?

I blinked when the flash powder went off. So my HS pic has me with my eyes closed.

....In that Royal's photo,,as long as they were photo-shop fixing things up,,they chould have given the one kid a front tooth.

That the picture was photoshopped was not the reason. The real reason is that it was Photoshopped badly. Many believe that Kate has a much more serious medical problem than has been portrayed, and the doctored picture is evidence of a cover-up plot. Following the doings of Royals is a serious sport of great interest to Britons, despite the fact that the Royals are essentially just hogs in a feeding frenzy at the public trough. Sort of like Taylor Swift is here. Just remember what the reaction there was to the death/murder of ex-Princess Di (take your choice). The country and the monarchy nearly shut down over it.

One has to wonder why there have been no story leaks. Surely there must be dozens, if not many more, people who know what's going on. Security at the palace must be extremely tight.

It's called discretion and respect for others' privacy. Sadly, these are seen as major character flaws by our media driven society.

I wish that’s all I had to worry about. My current and possibly insurmountable dilemma is what gun I should carry to go grocery shopping and Kraft Mac and cheese or Velveeta and shells.

My first thought when they said "unspecified abdominal surgery" was a hysterectomy, and possible ovarian cyst. When my wife had that surgery some 20+ years ago it took her a long time to recover, since her cyst was huge and they could not do the procedure with laparoscopy. If so, then she isn't going to be feeling too chipper for some time. At the same time, she should be allowed her privacy, and some space.

Can you imagine the amount of work that has to be made on shots of Megan??

I'm not saying anything about you for pointing this out to me, I'm saying the entire situation is blue-ribbon, over-the-top, pan-galactic ridiculous! Too many people to count have edited their own and/or their kids pictures before putting them up online to go crazy about what another mom does just because she's famous. Seriously, if her name were Kate Jones and she lived in East Cupcake, West Virginia then we'd all be yelling about her rights to medical privacy if she chose to hide a medical issue in a photo.

I'm not sure which is worse - people obsessed with the rich and famous for no apparent reason, or the people who are constantly suspicious of someone simply BECAUSE they are rich and famous. Like leftover fish, both the overly-obsessed and the conspiracy theory crowd are fast wearing out their welcome.
