Does anyone shoot anything other than 9mm?

I have a BHP since 1972, And a 3906, a Sig 228 and a 9mm Shield.......I seldom shoot 9mm anynore,,,,In fact my records show I shot more 45LC & 38 spl last year than my other calibers.
BTW............I started out in 72 with the BHP and a LEE pounder loader........Then I started shooting SUPER-VEL.....
That ammo impressed the heck out of me........Their 112 gr SP would completely shatter an 8 in concrete block

I do shoot 9mm, but it's my least favorite cartridge. I don't like picking up brass so the 9mm, 45 ACP, .380, and 9mm Makarov only get shot a little each year. Mostly it's .22, .38 Special, and .41 Magnum.

I tell myself not to pick up 9mm. Just buy brass and leave it. One has to ask themselves if 9mm is even worth picking up given how cheap it is. But I can't do it. I have to pick it up.

I seldom shoot 9mm, about once a year and those are handloads. At our private gun club, based on the empty brass scattered about, I'd guess at least 85% of the shooters are using 9mm pistols.

I see a lot of newbie shooters on the various pistol ranges. Almost invariably with a brand new, compact 9mm. And, are often a greater danger to themselves and others on the firing line than the targets down range at 7 yards.

Seems nobody starts with a 22 to develop basic skills anymore.

I keep an extra one and ammo in my range kit. Loaned it many times to a new shooter or couple that couldn’t control their featherweight 9mm. They’ve always been appreciative and immediately show improved results.

I'm sure some people at the range were looking askance at me when I first took my wife shooting when we were dating. First, I had her shoot a FEG Walther PP clone in 32 ACP. Then, for her first try with a full house caliber, a Star Model B Super, all 38 oz or more of steel. Maybe some mistook it for a 1911. Whatever, it barely recoils with 115 gr range fodder.

It seems like 9mm just evolved. Small enough to fit 10-12 rds. in a small pistol. Decent punch. Glock was the big dog, still is? Many new shooters have very little knowledge or interest in collecting. Just get what everyone else got. Plus being fairly cheap helps. Shot placement, like always, rules.

Yes I shoot a fair amount of 9.
Some 38 Special, 380, 357, and 44 Special- Magnum.
I have one 22 Mag, don’t remember the last time I shot it!
But - But - I shoot a bunch of 22LR.
i have several 22 Rifles and a Group of 22 Handguns.
You do know that a Group is bigger than a Squadron but smaller than a Wing?

I started with a H&R 22 revolver as I recall, then cap and ball 44, a Beretta 25 acp, a Beretta 380, then bought my first new 9mm S&W. I had been casting for years for black powder, so jumped into casting for 9mm and reloading. Since then has been a lot of calibers including some you rarely see ammo for, which reloading allows you to do. I should more 45 acp than anything else, but lately it's been 9mm while I heal from shoulder replacement. Blessings

You don't find .357M or .44M on the ground because revolvers don't eject cases into the air. I resent losing casings which could otherwise be reloaded. That said, I shoot 9mm on occasion.

I shoot tons and tons and tons of 9mm

Cheap, easy to shoot.

Next is probably. 45 and 10mm tied way beg8nd 9mm

I only shoot my .22 when I verify the red dot for squirrel hunting

Have a few friends that the only handgun they own is a 9mm.

I don't shoot 9mm very often. I seem to shoot 38 S&W a lot, since I reload for it and have a lot of pistols in that caliber. 45 Auto Rim and 41 Mag I shoot a fair amount, I reload for those too. 38 Spl is fun to shoot too. I keep all the brass for these rounds. I also shoot 22LR a bunch.

I have too many other caliber pistols I'd like to shoot before 9mm!

Last year I got my first semi-auto pistol. A Glock 33 in .357SIG.
I like the blast and punch of that little beast.

Before that it was .38 Special and .357 Magnum.

I tried to resist getting a 9mm but I couldn't help but see how much more expensive .357SIG is than 9mm.
So, I got myself a Glock 43x in 9mm.

It may become my new carry gun?

Lately though, I've been shooting a fair amount of 5.56

Just made the switch back to .38/.357. Ordered 590 rounds online. Will eventually get into reloading.

I shoot 9mm when we go to an indoor range and I know I'm going to lose the brass. Otherwise it's a variety of calibers and if you see my brass after I leave it's only because I somehow missed it during clean-up.

I will admit to shooting more 9mm than any other handgun round. Yes, I have and shoot .40, .45, .38 special, .380, 5.7 x 28, and of course .22LR, but 9mm is at the sweet spot between cost and effectiveness.

I shoot less 9mm than any other caliber and I'm not sure why? When I go to the range .22lr, .357mag, and .45acp seem to be what always make the trip.

Lots of 9mm. And .38, .357, .22LR, .380acp, 30-06, 7.62 Russian, 7.62 x 39mm and .223. Not as often, but I've loaded and shot for 7.7mm Arisaka, 8mm Mauser and .44 Magnum. I reload everything except .22.

Shoot 60% 45 acp, 30% 38 super and special and 20% 22. Never shoot 9mm although i have
probably 2000 rounds on the shelf and a very nice CZ 9mm. I reload 38 and 45 down, so at age 88
the recoil is not a problem.

Maybe I look at things differently. Don't say it. I shoot the pistols or revolvers or long guns in whatever caliber. For example, my range days can be revolver days (38/357); pistol days are by manufacturer (Hi Power/Sig/Springfield - 9 or 40 or 45); long gun - hello Marlin (30-30) or a custom AR15 (6.5 Grendel). I love them all: gunpowder smells, the feel of metal and wood or palm swells or shoulder bites. Each time, each session, each tells me something new about myself and the firearm. At my age, I find myself again.
