I got to talking to NY-1, a member here, about the Six guns the NYPD used. I have a blued one from January, 1987, and a stainless DAO one from the first DAO class in July, 1987. He said he saw a listing on gunbroker for a blued one in the box on gunbroker, that he said came from a gunshop in Orange County, NY. I asked where since I work there and he told me the gunshop was in Goshen, NY, right around the corner from my job. So I go over there and it's not there, so I figure it's sold (it was no longer showing up on Gunbroker), so I'm walking out the door and the employee asked what I was looking for. I told him and he said "Oh, yeah. Some guy on gunbroker placed a bid but he never paid and he won't respond to emails. I have it here if you want to see it", so he takes it out. Here are the pics. I figured it to be an NYPD gun so I sent off for the letter, but as I opened the box, the inspection page from the Firearms and tactics Section was in there, with the test results and the cops names and shield numbers who did the test, so I know it's legit. It was FILTHY! Took me a long time to press the button to release the trigger guard. It is fully disassembled and taking a much needed bath in automatic transmission fluid for a few days. Time will tell if I sell my 1987 blued one without the box. This one here is superior to it. The serial number looks to be late 1984 to 1985.
