Doubt that's going to be enough information to work with

However, many people do not post the data we need to help you, and we wind up playing 20 Questions for hours.
If you will take just a few minutes to read below and then post the data we need, you will sometimes see guns fully identified in 10 minutes or less! If you post at 4 am Eastern time, you might have to wait 2 or 3 hours for the morning crew to show up, but there's a good chance a west coast night owl will catch it for you.

Where do you get that from? A four digit .44 Special should be a Triple Lock, likely shipped between 1909 and 1913 in that serial number range.

OP 375** , 5 numbers
Looks like it is five digits; 375**. Perhaps built in 1931, no telling when it shipped. With that number could be either a 2nd or a 3rd Model I guess.
Yes, I now see there’s two asterisks. Much easier just to post the full serial number.
I have never understood not posting the full serial number. Are you trying to hide something? Same thing when people post a picture of their car on a forum or for sale and blur out the tag number but drive it all day in public. Every gun posted for sale has the entire serial number. It helps to have all the info.
Ditto...The complete S/N also helps with the preservation of history by those who are constructing databases for the use by others...

Just to throw a wrench in the system, s/n 36458 shipped at then end of 1938.
Did the number come off the butt or from the yoke cut out. The butt number is the serial number and the one in the yoke cut out is basically meaningless
If you give the full serial number, all someone has to is list it as stolen and then you are in a world of trouble. happened to a friend of mine.
