Hey All,
I'm looking at a S&W 19-8 snub for sale, but... via the interwebz, and the pics don't show the hammer pulled back into single action mode.
Does the 19-8 model have the internal firing pin, mounted in frame?
The revolver has the "newer" style cylinder release (slanted angle version, forgive my lack of proper nomenclature) which usually goes hand-in-hand with the design change which changed from hammer-mounted firing pin to "internal" firing pin...

I'm reaching out to the seller in order to ask this question, but figured y'all can answer in a timely manner!
any insight or info on the -8 variant of the model 19, would be greatly appreciated!

Welp... answered my own question, as I looked closely at the pics and spotted that the hammer did NOT have hole where a firing pin would be mounted.

I spoke with the seller and he stated that it's internal mounted firing pin.
I pulled the trigger on the purchase, so will have a nice 19-8 inbound, and will share pics.

The hammer mounted firing pin is my popular around these parts, but I actually never did mind the internal firing pin and the "slanted" angle cylinder release button.

Not sure if S&W slowed down production in the later years of the 19 snub, but I rarely see the "later" variants for sale?

They’re fine as long as you don’t over pay for them. The new 19-10, which is a slight improvement over the -9/-8, runs brand new around 900-1000. I saw a well used -8 on consignment recently for $950. I don’t know where some of these prices come from…
