I purchased a model 29-2 serial number N632107. It’s nickel plated and came with rubber Pachmayr grips.
I would like to install correct goncalo alves target grips.
That said, I read something about later N frames having speedloader cut grips instead of football.
I have both styles, I just don’t know which would be most correct. Can anyone advise? Thank you.

Thanks Bill. I did some digging in my SCSW and found exactly what you said.
Before and after pics. Not bad

SCSW 4th edition on page 38, states the speed loader cut out target stocks began in the mid 70s early 80s on N frame revolvers. Another source, I can't recall where, stated that the speed loader target stocks became standard in 1981 for the 44 mag -3 N frame variation, when pinned barrels and recessed cylinder ended. Your gun with stated SN# is right at the end of -2. Your target stocks are still period correct and look great with the football relieved stocks. A very nice match!
