Genuine bicycle revolver or cut barrel?

The good book says a .32 Safety Hammerless in excellent condition is worth $400 or more. A 2" Bicycle version is worth about double. I have its bigger brother in .38.

Unless it's a factory refinish, it shows no signs of a refinish. The pins and screw holes haven't been over polished. There's no gap around the sideplate. If it's a factory refinish, there will most likely be a star by the SN and a month and date stamp on the frame under the grips.

Here’s the frame with the stocks removed. My guess is a factory refinish, except no markings under the stocks.1748796239450.png

I have one that letters as a 2-inch, but some here think it is not original. Is a 4th Model with a forged front sight. SCSW 5th says forged sight only on 5th Model. Some other details that some believe are not factory quality work. I have emailed Don Mundell questioning the information in the letter. Will let you know what he says when I hear from him.20241001_171157 (5).jpg20241001_171244 (3).jpg

I don't think it is a refinish. I can't say what a .38 Bicycle will bring, but I sold a 32 Bicycle a couple years ago, for North of $2000.
I don’t know for sure. A nickel revolver is difficult to photograph, but here are some photographs that make me question if the finish is authentic, or refinished:

Note the weak 6th digit of the serial number, this being a “6”.

Note the weak “A” at the end of the barrel address and scratches in a finish that seems atypical of 12 decades of use, even if limited.

Saw one just sell at auction for 600 plus premiums taxes and fees. No clue as to originality. I have a blued 1903 in .32s&w I payed 300 for out of a gunshop lol

And here’s a photograph showing a rack number which is aftermarket applied, but is its application an impetus to have had the whole revolver refinished?
