Has anyone heard of or seen a 6" 15-1 in nickel? Collectors guide says 6" wasn't offered till -5? I'm looking at a 6" 15-1 in nickel and it has the trigger guard screw square butt. Any info will be appreciated. I've read there was a very limited run of ss 15's special order how can I tell the difference without hands on? Trigger and hammer are silver toned also. HELP

We need pictures. If the hammer and trigger are plated, you can be certain it is an aftermarket job.
No Model 15-1 should have a 6" barrel. Either it was changed, or the frame is mismarked.
Also, stainless steel is entirely different than a carbon steel gun with a nickel finish.

A 15-1 also has a frame that is notched at the top so a wide rib barrel won't look right cosmetically,
A pre 1954 narrow rib barrel in 6" would fit fine.
