Interesting that S&W is advertising "No Lock". I like it, especially the .22.

I would be all over one of the 617's if I could be assured about the quality. Maybe when they are in the stores and I can inspect one before purchase I might pick one up.

Your Model 63 is a J frame, the 617 is a K frame,
Apples and oranges.
HEY LIPSEYS if your gauging interest in future products how about a .22lr Mountain gun built on the L and N frame and an 8 shot square butt no lock SS .357 Mountain gun built on the N frame with a checkered topstrap.
Better yet stamp REG MAG in the yoke cut.

Not surprised, 10mm is the hot "new thing" having many new semi auto platforms and pistol caliber carbine (PCC) applications plus btw you can also shoot .40 SW in a 10mm revolver.

That 617 will be my next handgun, but they released this not a month after I just bought two Colt King Cobra .22s. For years it was hard to find a quality stainless .22 revolver without an internal lock, and now when it rains it pours. As soon as my credit card recovers I will be looking for a 617 Mountain Gun.

Very cool, but I already have a 617-6 which I absolutely love. And the lock does not bug me enough to spend $1199.
Yes, All .22's made in the last 168 years are now obsolete because new 617.

My only request is these Mountain Guns (especially the 617) should all be offered with Scandium frames as well……..

Figured the 10mm would be about last in the line up. Bet they sell a ton of the 22 though.
My k frame Model 18 is still running strong, thou not stainless & just a 6 shot
And still no 45 ACP/AR Mountain Gun.
