Was handed this today. An early post war M&P 2 inch round butt revolver with matching numbered stocks. Feels nice in the hand with those fat little stocks. Also came with a vintage cross draw tan Lewis holster (cylinder pocket type) and a early red Chiefs special box which doesn't come close to taking this K snubbie. Super nice action. It just feels right.

What is the last digit of that serial number? I cannot quite make it out.
In any case, this likely shipped in 1949. C55161 is also a round butt 2" unit. It shipped in March 1949.
It is a 3, I believe. I have to wait 72 hours to bring it home.

I have a few...This is my latest postwar......Ben

When I started looking for birth year/month guns this was the second 11/47 I found here:

- M&P .38 Spl. - shipped 11/20/47 - original stocks numbered to gun -
...and just one week off of hitting the trifecta: year/month/day !
Now it does not sit in the safe but is "on duty" in my desk drawer of my home office sporting vintage a S&W grip adapter.

DRYHEAT great looking 38 M&P snub, wondering if the S&W grip adapter is size large.
