He died July 18, 2024.

He's on my Mt. Rushmore of comedy. Carlin, Pryor, Newhart. Last spot I can't decide. Probably Chappelle. With honorable mentions to Brooks and Dangerfield.
I wouldn't include Carlin in that group. His career eventually digressed into a very despondent diatribe against the government that wasn't funny, at least to me.
The play got bad reviews from Mrs Lincoln
Oh well we can still remember him. I really like his dry wit.

Bob Newhart and Tim Conway. The best of the best. Two immensely creative and funny men that make me hurt from laughing.

Steven Wright too. Frank Gorshin did a fantastic Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas among others. I know he was an impressionist but he made me laugh pretty good. You know all these comedians we mentioned all used no foul language or politics in their acts. Except Carlin
who was very funny but got pretty mean in his older years.

Big difference. Bob Newhart was funny. Tim Conway was silly.
