I would like personal use please.

I have a bunch of military brass to swage. I am using a Lee Classic Turret press. I am using the RCBS Primer Pocket Swager-2. I set the die up as per instructions. I think I can swage the primer pocket but it is almost impossible to get the swaging tool to let go of the brass. There is no way this is going to work the way it is set up. The problem is the case stripper. There is no way, that I can think of, that this will work. You guys that have this system how did you get the case to break free of the Swager Head?

Second question is, is there a primer pocket swager that will work with the Lee Classic press?

I have an RCBS Swager, too, but was unaware there was a -2 model. Not knowing what the diff is, I'm afraid I'm not going to be of much help, except to say that mine has decrimped many hundreds, maybe over a thousand cases in 9mm, .30-06, .303, 8x57mm, & even a few 5.56mm without problems. How is your stripper set up? Mine uses the same stripper for both Large and Small primers, and rides the top of the ram astride the swage punch.

Anyway are you using a Lee press with the die? The problem I can't get the case stripper to work. The way the Lee press is setup is the ram is 1 1/8". I guess the others are 1". Anyway I can't figure how to make it work. I did a search and found I guess you have to make an adaptor but I was wondering if anyone else has figured it out.

Wasn't impressed with mine either. Piece of junk IMO.

I found out that the Lyman primer pocket reamer does a much better job and it is a lot easier to use. If I processed a lot of military brass I'd probably buy a Dillon swager.

I have used the RCBS swager on an RCBS press without too many issues. When you lower the ram, it should push the case off of the swage. I guess you are saying that the Lee ram can't be lowered sufficiently to remove the case from the swage. I would call RCBS and see if they have a solution other than buy their equipment.

I agree with geoff40 that if you are going to do a lot of swaging, buy a Dillon.

buy a Dillon and be done with it. I bought my swager tool back in the early '90's and have processed thousands upon thousands of .223 and .308 with it and am VERY pleased with the results. You will be as well.

Yep that's the problem. If the stripper cup had "wings" on it that hung down to contact the press it would work. I hate to have to weld them on. Depending on the cost I may have to get another press. I am hoping Lee makes one with a smaller ram.

About 1970 I bought a C-H CHampion press. It too has the large ram. I had to have a washer welded on in order for it to work.
There would probably be more of a problem with the LCT because of the plastic collar containing the auto advance mechanism.
Might look into a cheap single stage press if you have a lot to do.
Or the $2.39 Lee chamfer tool will cut them out, but a lot of work if you have a lot to do.
Might not be worth paying $100 for a tool unless you really plan on using it a lot.

Yeah that's about where I am now. I have about 1500 of them to do. Your right about the plastic indexing thing at the bottom. I took it off to see if that would help. Nope the problem is the large ram. The cup is the same size so the frame of the press won't lift it when you bring the ram down. I could mess with it and make something work but I am under a little bit of a time frame. I'm gonna check today and see if I can get a single stage press with a smaller diameter ram. I looked on Cabelas and it looks like they have a couple where the ram is the same size as the shell holder. That "should" do it.

Well I had to get a RCBS press. I got the Partner since I really only want it to swage the brass. Kinda expensive but the Lee presses won't work. At least the ones I could see wouldn't. The the Lee had two problems. One was there were castings in the way of the swaging cup. The other problem was the ram would not go down enough to enable the cup to push the shell off the swaging tool. Well anyway it works. I have a bunch of brass gettin here tomorrow so it will get a workout.

I use a Hornady primer pocket reamer in a cordless drill. It only takes about a second per case or less. I do recommend buying several different manufacturers reamers to see which one cuts the pocket the way you like. Interestingly enough, everybody has a different idea of how a primer pocket should be cut.
