Pull and replace m855 penetrator bullets
I have a couple thousand Federal XM855 rounds. There is really no place for me to shoot these penetrator bullets, so I am considering pulling the bullets and replacing with standard FMJ.
There are several ways to do this. Of course I can use only the brass and discard the other components, but I have considered simply replacing the bullets or maybe just powder and bullets.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, fuzzy

If you can't shoot the M855s, just replacing the bullets would seem the most cost effective solution. Maybe try some match bullets? Or you perhaps could try trading for a more suitable loading; I'm sure in today's climate, the 855 would be in demand. .

Personally I'd just try and trade it one for one for regular m193 ball with someone versus fooling with pulling all those bullets and reloading.

I would hold on to it, you just might need it some day.

Green tips are highly desirable. You could likely trade 'em easily for something you want.
I think they're going for $1+/rd now. That's where they were at post Newtown.
I have a few. They ain't goin' nowhere.

Easiest thing to do would be to trade them for some M193/XM193 ammo.

$1 a round! Holy cow, I had no idea they were that much in demand. I see the vote is unanimous. Same thing my shooting buddy said. I will just hold to them. Thanks for the input!
God bless, fuzzy

As soon as I read the OP I was thinking about a trade, maybe one round of the green-tip for 3 or 4 rounds of good quality factory sporting ammo. You can probably made someone very happy and grow your supply of blasting ammo.
