Hello everyone!

I have a problem. I am looking for some parts for my sw revolvers, all antique made up to 1890. I tried Numrich
Numrich Gun Parts Corp. - The World's Largest Supplier of Firearms Parts and Accessories
but there is almost nothing...
I tried Mr. Chicoine, the same result...
swhome
Plese tell me, is there any other source of antique sw gun parts? Some netshop or anyting? They should be able to send smal parts to Europe. hand, hand spring, ...
Thank you!

Jack First has antique S&W parts. Jack First Gunshop - First in Gun Parts - Rapid City, South Dakota

You could try to call to see if they have specific parts, but I think they like their customers to buy a catalog of gun parts for $40.00. I have not tried them, but David Chicoine often recommends them when he is out of stock.

You may find a parts gun from time to time for not too much money. If you have a high quality S&W, the cost of a parts gun may be worth the investment, but if you are trying to fix up a shooter, the cost may be a little high. ebay, Gunbroker, and Guns International sometimes have parts for sale. Lastly, you can place an ad in the Want to Buy section of this Forum and some members may have what you want.

Good luck in your hunt.

What model and what part do you need? I have a couple boxes of spare small parts.

In the past while looking for hard to find parts for S&W and other brands I have had luck on EBAY, There seems to be a few small parts guys with internet stores who are selling parts only , You might want to give that a shot, The inventory of the items is changing daily --------- Do a few Ebay searchs such as S&W S&W PARTS S&W Victory ---- You might be suprised --- Have fun Good Luck

Thanks guys for all your advice. I have to old sw top breaks what do not work. The first one is 38. sw top break second model with old style cylinder. I need the hand spring and maybe new hammer as well. the second one is 38 sw hammerles second model. I need cylinder stop spring for it. Thanks.

I have been waiting on Jack First for six months for a hand spring for a model 1 1/2 SA. Was told two to three months..
Now they say.. they are backlogged & machinery broke down.
Your best bet is to find a parts gun on gun broker. Rather then wait for Jack second...:)

I don't have the springs. Both are easy to make out of an old alarm clock spring. I have done it several times. You just have to heat the spring to cut it. Then re-temper it. You can do this with oil, oils flash point is around the correct temperature for the springs. It will take some trial and error but it will work eventually. You need to get the temperature of the spring to about 750 degrees Fahrenheit, then quench it in oil.
