I got off early Friday and was home in the reading room when I recieved a call from a co-worker who had just gotten off and was going home and stopped at a local pawn shop. He said he saw and N-frame Smith and knew i liked Smiths and the price was right. I ran right down and now I'm the proud owner of a 3 1/2 inch Registered Magnum. It was very dirty and had holster wear from the muzzle to the reciever but it did clean up nice. Shipped in 1936 I would love it if it lettered to a Texas Ranger. I talked them down from $450.00 to $350 plus tax. I would love to post picture but have no idea how. It will have to wait until my grandson visits to get done.
I recieved my letter from Roy today. It said, Registered Magnum 1136 was shipped 9 June 1936 to the President, National Bank of Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Records indicate it was shipped with a 3 1/2 inch barrel equipped with Call gold bead front sight, square notch rear sight, blue finish and checkered walnut Magna grips. This revolver was sighted in at 25 yards with .357 Magnum cartridges, using a 6 o'clock hold. This order was for 2 units both in the same configuration, Reg. No. 1136 and 1137. Boy, wouldn't it be great to find this revolvers brother because this one didnt wander too far from home.
