I’m down at the “snowy” OGCA show and a fellow SWCA member showed me his fabulous Registered Magnum in 3 1/2” barrel , beautiful magna grips purchased in the last Amoskeag Auction. Formerly in the Roy Jinks collection. It came with the box and certificate. Bill

Smith & Wesson at its finest! Beautiful 3.5"er.

Thanks for sharing,

I was at the Amoskeag auction and got to hold that very gun before it went on the block ... probably the closest I'll ever get to owning an RM!

It has a cool provenance ... and somebody out there in Forumland has wicked deep pockets.

And, better advise the new owner to give that gun a thorough wipe-down ... when I saw that beauty I started drooling like a hound dog in a hotdog factory ...

I love both of those guns!!! The OP gun with the box and cert was a steal at that price. And Terry, the package is wonderful with the small box, paperwork and SAT and one of the finest condition 3.5"ers I have ever seen (in photos or person).

Here is a first year RM that I was lucky enough to wrangle into my collection almost 10 years ago.:D It really deserves a new photo shoot with some of the documents and other information that adds color to its history...

I'd love to see any other 3.5" pre-war Magnums that are out there.

Thanks for sharing,

Just my worthless opinion but I never cared much for the Patridge front sight and like it even lass on a short barrel. The subject of this thread is a beautiful example, though.

I hate you for even showing such a thing...just kidding. That kind of revolver is beyond my dreams and just maybe beyond my pocket book.

Meh, just buy a 28 and have the barrel cut. Or buy another barrel. You'd be close enough. :) With a lot less money. Eh? I don't really understand why a Registered Magnum is SO much more than even a good 27..... What am I missing? Were there a lot less made? But the thing is, even if there were a lot less made, it's still basically the pre cursor to the 27, so..... I don't see the extra value. Other than cuz that's what Patton carried. His was a Registered Magnum, correct? I asked in another thread already so I apologize for repeating myself.

Custom built to the customer's spec and about as fine tuned as it could get. Cycle the action of a RM and you'll know. Even a 27 doesn't compare.
