Problem: I have an antique revolver with 2 screws corroded, rusted in tight and with buggered slots. I've used every trick I know - cutting the slots deeper, properly fitting screwdriver bits, penetrating oils including Kroil, and heat. Those screws just don't want to move. Now I don't want to damage the gun but those screws have to come out even if the gunsmith ruins them. I have replacement screws.
Question: There is a guy who calls himself "Master Gunsmith" who advertises in the yellow pages; he has a shop outside of Tomball TX which is a suburb of Houston. Does anybody know anything about this guy? Competence? Experience?
I don't want to use a gunsmith associated with a gunshop for private reasons. Does anybody know of another good smith in this area? If I have to I'll even send the frame to somebody really good who is out of state. If this is the case can you suggest someone who has a good turnaround time?
