K622000 range, shipped to Yorktown Custom Guns, Yorktown, OH on June 17, 1966. The revolver was fitted with a rare 3-inch barrel, target hammer and trigger and a round butt. I also have the original blue box, Parts & Instruction sheet, warranty card and accessories.

It has taken me years to find one of these, but one surfaced at the last S&WCA meeting and I was able to add it to my collection. It will be featured in my display of Combat Magnums in Kansas City at next year's S&WCA meeting.

I don't know how many were manufactured with a 3-inch barrel, but based on the few I have seen, there could not have been many. The factory letter I have states "a few" were made.

Bill, you continue to amaze me....that is just beautiful....

I'll take it! Please tell me where to send the funds.

Actually, I'm holding out for a round butt 4" gun.

Beautiful revolver!

I thought i've seen every configuration of a 19 but you just showed me one more, thanks.

Neat-but I'd be tempted to carry it! I wonder what value the "forum" would place on this piece if presented in a "What should I pay for..." thread? Probably something like-"Yeah-I got one a while back for $400.00-you'd be OK for as much as 5. :p

Doc,

What a beautiful and obviously rare find. It really makes me wish that S&W was still building them like that today.

I know I will likely never find such a nice piece, especially out here in CA. Although I am happy with my 3" K-Comp that I was lucky enough to find on line, there is just something about the classic 19.....

Congrats on the find!

Take care,

JJ

WOW! Never knew 3 inch Model 19's existed. A friend of mine I work with has a 3 inch Model 66. I know a couple of thousand of those were made. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Outstanding! Like a Yetti, I have still never seen one in person! I bid up to $1600 on one on GB once and the reserve still wasn't met so I gave up. I'm still healthy, but I doubt I'll live long enough to find one of those!

Bill:

Can't wait to see in in KC next year. While I collect 3 inch RB models, I have never seen a 3 inch 19. Now I have to keep my eye open for one. Thanks for showing it to us.

Hi Doc - Had one for quite a few years, then sold it to another serious collector. Mid 70's time frame - got the letter from Roy Jenks which stated there were 45 to 50 made as best as they could estimate. Outstanding gun in every respect. Best always - Judge
