I'm happy to say that as of today I am a proud new owner of a S&W. I went into the gun store looking to buy a 642 (asking $375) but instead decided to pick up a 360 Talo Edition (Black) .357 ($450). The salesman at the store mentioned it being made for the Hong Kong police, and after doing some searching online I found that the Hong Kong police returned 200 of 1000 M&P 360s I believe because there were hairline cracks in the barrel:(. Does anyone know if the 360 Talo is one of these? If so, do you think my barrel has a good chance of forming hairline cracks? Any help is greatly appreciated!

P.S. - Do you think I got it for a decent price? Have you seen 642s or 360 Talos for much less at gun shows?

Sounds like a decent price to me, a gun store close to me had a pile of them for 488+ tax, they were selling the **** out of them... They were sold as hong kong police over runs

Besides, if they were returned to Smith for suspected cracks in the barrels, they would fix the barrels before releasing them back to the public. Same if they were returned to a vendor. They would be looking at ridiculous lawsuits if they passed them on without either fixing them or disclosing that they were damaged.

No hep on the questions, but I have this gun and love it! It's quite a handful w/ hot .357 loads but not bad at all w/ everything else and quite accurate too.

My 360 cost me $439 + tax. Very nice gun. Dealer told me they were built for the Japanese Police, and the contract was cancelled. Not sure of the true story, but a 13.3 oz. S&W .357 mag. for under 5 bills is a bargain.

Can't wait to pick mine up on tuesday! Damn waiting period doesnt count the weekend
