I'm interested in being able to mount a light on a revolver, specifically an N-Frame 329 PD. Is there an off the shelf accessory to do this? Would the ejector rod get in the way?

I know that there are a couple of .357s with rails, I'm not interested in those.

Laserlyte makes a product, but it seems to be for J-frame and Taurus' only. I found a post through google where someone added a rail to their 329PD, but they gave no indication of what adapter they used.

You could also add Crimson Trace grips for a laser.

Thanks for the replies. I figure that I could get something made that will do it but I was hoping something already existed. There is probably something out there that will work, I just have to find it as it might not be identified as being for an N-Frame. I looked at getting CT grips but the grip they make for this gun doesn't cover the backstrap. While that probably wouldn't be a big deal for home defense as I would have it loaded with .44 special ammo, in the field I carry it with .44 magnum and they hurt even with the large X-Frame grips I put on it. As it is, I am more interested in a light for identification purposes than a laser for targeting. I'll also look for that link on Google.

Thanks again.

Groo here
I was interested on lighting a handgun for a while BUT that would require you to point your gun at what you want to see,,, like wife, kid,
or [gasp] dog.
Not good , I went back to a hand light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can't use mounted lights in IDPA so I got one of these: First Light USA

Haven't tried it with revolver yet. A bit worried the gap blast will hit the lens. But in a home defense situation that wouldn't be such a big deal. You don't run through 120 rounds like I do in a match.

That is a good point. However, I read that a good tactic is to aim the light/weapon at the floor and that it will flood a whole room with light.

I think it might be possible IF you could remove the rear sights and build a mount that would hold a small light using the screw holes that all ready exist.
I used to think a weapons light was a lot of BS, but I have seen the light------I mounted a Streamlight TLR-3 to my Glock 22 and it allows me to ID a target and the light is bright enough to to blind a bad guy before you shoot. The reason I know, I tried it looking in a mirror. I have shot many hundreds of round of .40 cal through my Glock with the light on and it never moves. A good investment if you can get one to work.
