Let's see some of those stainless "humpbacks" out there.

Here's my M649-3 that I happened upon last year at a local gun shop (LGS)
while looking for a blued "humpback." When I read on the tag a fair asking price,
as well as "box & papers," and noticed that this gun had a forged hammer & trigger,
I was hooked............;)

The only thing I've done to mine, besides shooting & carrying it,
was to remove the large, clothes gripping, rubber grips that came on it
and installed something a little more carry friendly........

When the J Frame .357 Magnum M649-3 was introduced in 1996 S&W was just starting
to use the MIM parts so only the earlier 649-3's have forged hammer's & trigger's.......

Ogy...

I have said it before and I will say it again...I love that 649! :D
I do have one question...will the empties clear those grips? Again, that is one nice revolver.

Thanks Rapidray!
It's one of my favorites, that's for sure...

I haven't tried messing with it since I put those grips on, which just happened.

Last Friday I picked up a M649 that I have to take apart & clean up and after I
get it done am planning to take 'em both out and shoot 'em at the same time.

The M649-3 fills a slot in my carry rotation where it's generally used during
the daytime in conjunction with another gun, whether it's the back-up, or something
else is, changes up. Because of this (2 revo's) I usually don't bother carrying any
spare ammo so reloading capabilities are kind of low on what I want a set of grips
on that particular gun to be good at.

All of my "night time carry guns" have Crimson Trace Grips on them......

It's wearing CT 105 grips and a Mepro tritium front sight now. Not quite as sexy, but beauty is as beauty does, or something like that ;)

I hear ya Hawk.
All of my guns get grips based on the role they will play and since
they ain't movie stars their roles are a little different.

Something happened over the last couple of years where now I see beauty in
functionality. If they happen to be wood all the better, if plastic or rubber, so be it.......

Nice mag ya got there!! :)
