I've had the same thought, but have not found any.

Ya, the 8 shot full moon clips are way to big to carry in a pocket. I think they are only useful for competition shooting but half moons would work good for carrying. I looked all over the net and I don't think they are made cause I think I would have ran across them by now but I figure I'd ask.

Little off topic but simply rugged leather has came out with a neat looking moonclip carrier for the belt. I have the same problem carrying 8 rounders! There is no good way to carry them except in a contraption that prints worse than the gun! I'm going to order one and test it out. I also looked for half moons and have not seen any. I would imagine that a four round clip would be very brittle and probably bend.

Yep couldn't agree more about the printing issue and the half moons bending and being brittle

the originals were half moon clips i think.

and I've seen pictures of 2 round (1/3rd?) clips.

Amazon has 1/2 moon clips for 45 [ame="http://www.amazon.com/COLT-45-Half-Moon-Clips/dp/B004UA99X0"]Amazon.com : COLT .45 ACP Half Moon Clips : Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41NOGODfnpL.@@AMEPARAM@@41NOGODfnpL[/ame]

missed the 4+4 part of the original post.

I would think that moon clips are cheap enough that you could buy a few and just try to cut them and see what happens?

Yep, for the 1917s.

IDK who besides a WWI or WWII reenactor would want them. I suppose they would have a smaller footprint for concealment.

Ranch products makes 1/3 moonclips for the 45acp. Just snaps 2 cartridges together. Now those would fit in you pocket easily.
