.45 ACP revolvers dropped from line?

You're correct - no 45 acp revolvers in the current lineup. A member of the Colt forum called S&W and was told none in production at this time and no word of plans to bring any back.

So, did I just purchase one of the last 625-8's? Maybe its like winning the lottery. Less than 200 rounds through it. Should I put it up? bob

Thanks for posting that. I thought about selling 625-8 a few times but it's not going anywhere now. This is sad news.

Go to their web page.
There is a SIGNIFICANT reduction is Perf. center models in several calibers.
The M&P's must be HIGH in demand to cancel[at least for now] so many models.
On the other hand it's also very likely they weren't running them or had no plans to run so we'll just slim down the web site! :(

Sure - a dash 8 with the IL will be a collector item in maybe 50 years... Seriously, it they were a big market item they would still be making them. Our little group doesn't move the needle on sales of new guns.

S&W is probably focusing on the M&P line of pistols as they are very popular right now and sell faster than they can make them.

This is more than likely the correct answer. Everyone wants a cheap high capacity 9mm right now, and you know poly guns are dirt cheap to make with a giant mark up.

Guess I better hold on to mine...

My 625-8 JM was not going anywhere even before hearing this. My favorite gun to shoot and for IDPA also. Also with Hogue Bantam grips it can be carried with a good holster and belt. Jim.

Local Pawn Shop has a new 625 JM model for $950.00 plus tax.
Too rich for me. Besides I couldn’t afford to shoot.

Mine is a 625-2 and I have no plans of getting rid of it. Just wish I could find a 625 in .45 Colt but it will probably be harder to find now. Here's my 625-2:
