I've been looking for an S&W 629-1, -2, or -3 in a 4" revolver, but most of those were overpriced, and in not so great condition.
Located a brand new model 29-10 with 4 inch barrel (not engraved) at a Texas, Gun Shop and bought it. (shipped from SW factory Nov 2020)

Except for that silly lock, the revolver is beautiful, and its square butt.
The only late model Smith & Wesson revolver that I own.
I haven't disassembled and installed lighter action springs yet, nor fired it either.
Took a quick picture of the revolver with a (brand new old stock), Tex Shoemaker, basket-weave, soft-suede lined holster, a Bianchi B7 belt w/44 cal loops, and a good old HKS speedloader.

BTW; My Mrs bought the holster for me!

I have one as well. Fantastic piece of equipment. I would recommend replacing the Altamont grips with the older factory S&W square but grip as they are wider in the palm, and much more useful / efficient for distributing magnum recoil force.

I happen to have a pair of those grips, and was planning on switching.

Thank You!

Very nice - congrats. I've been thinking about the exact same gun. How is the finish on the blueing? Can you post a few more pics?
Thanks.

I have a new s&w m29-10 6” in blue. My dealer made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. It was purchased and Unfired and pawned. For $699 I took it home with me. The blue case, presentation case with everything. I wanted nickel but for that cost I can wait.

Me, too. Great shooter, beautiful finish.

Great looking 44 Magnum. I bought a Model 29-10 with a 6 1/2-inch barrel and nickel finish in 2006 when it first came out. I have been shooting it over the years without any problems. As the photo below shows, I did change the stocks. Click on the photo for a better look.

Congratulations on a beautiful piece. I have been looking to buy a new 29 or 629 at MSRP and cannot locate any. I did find a new 586 and it should arrive at my FFL next week.

The blueing/metal polish is not a mirror finish as with some older S&W blue guns, ie, probably comparable to a 1970's model 28, or in a K frame, the model 14/15.
As far as images go, I only took one pose, because there will be changes, for instance, grip panels, and maybe a nickel finish from Fords in Crystal River, FL.
What I did was brighten up the current image, and I'll attach it here.
