With MIM technology getting better over time, are the first MIM parts put out by Smith & Wesson back in 1997 as good quality as the MIM parts currently being put out? Or, are they just the same? I would imagine that S&W invested large amounts of money in the manufacturing hardware used to produce MIM parts. My first guess is that they still have the same manufacturing hardware from 1997, unless of course there is better MIM technology now that would require an upgrade to the MIM manufacturing hardware.
