I'm new to buying guns/revolvers and I see so many posters saying they would never own a gun with the lock. What's the hate for the lock? Looks? Function? Just prefer old school?

For me it just looks silly... So, therefore, I prefer a pre-lock gun... I own 2 or 3 firearms with the internal lock and they have never given me any kind of issues... And, I have only heard of issues in the mystical Internet land...

It's an unnecessary addition that increases the potential of the gun to malfunction.

That sums it up for me. I only have the IL on two L frames, neither of which I use for carry or home defense.
