I'm a senior and have had just about every .44 brand made that I took a fancy to. S&W's 629's no dash right up to -5, also 29's until I got the first in stainless.

Now seeing so much interest in the .44 and many buyers of older .44's, I've been wondering what ages recent buyers are.

Being retired I hang around the LGS and a retired cop I know works there too. We discussed revolvers and what people buy 44 Magnums? It is usually retirees or the older men.

I bought my first 29-2 in 1977. I sold it in 2019. It was the last 44 mag I owned.

I lost interest in the 44mags over the years as I discovered that I didn’t need such a physically large gun to meet my needs. They are dismal devices to actually carry in the field.

Got my first 44 mag in my early 30s, a newer production 6 inch 629. I had just gotten into and learned the ropes of reloading using 38 spl and 357 mag and knew that I could “afford” to shoot 44 also. It’s been downhill ever since with other calibers. If it wasn’t for reloading I wouldn’t have dipped my toe in big-bore waters.

Didn't buy a 44 mag until later in life, and last revolver bought was a short M69. But am not a hunter anymore and the M69 does not get full bore loads through it.

I am 64 years old now. I bought my first 44 magnum, a Ruger Super blackhawk, at 18 years old. My latest 44 magnum purchase is a Colt Anaconda 4 inch barrel. At last count, I had 18 firearms in my safe with 44 magnum written on the barrel. It, along with the 45 acp, are probably my two favorite handgun cartridges.

69. Just bought one at the implied request of the Giant Pig. "Sir... SIR! You KNOW you need something bigger than that puny 357 snub, with a critter like me around... yes?"

Mostly will be shooting 44Sp, of course.

I was in my mid 20s when I purchased my first 44 mag, a NIB S&W 629-2 Mountain Revolver. I think ownership of 44 mags starts earlier than later. I know the older I get, the less I like recoil. That said, I still see 44s in display cases packaged with the original box of ammo.

I just turned 59 last week and brought home a ANIB 629-4. I needed another 44 like I need a pacemaker, but it was nice, the seller motivated, and 44 mags just have a certain je ne sais quois.

Since acquiring a couple 696 no dashes, I don't shoot/carry my N frames as much. However, I have no plans to dump my 44s anytime soon.

Can't believe I'm in my 70s (71) never thought I'd get this old. Anyway, love the vintage 29s, late '50s early '60s. I was super lucky to come across a 29ND (1960) but my shooter is the 629-4 5", a joy to shoot.

I'm 71, I bought my first 44 back in the late 70's I guess it was, a Ruger Super-Blackhawk. I just bought my most recent, a 4" Model 29-10. I've owned several others over the years, as well as a few 41 Mags.

I'll bet I've never fired a full 50 round box of actual magnum ammo in all of them put together. I'm a wimp when it comes to recoil.

My recent S&W .44 Magnum purchases are a 6” 29-3, a 6” 629-3 and a very sweet 4” .44 Magnum (pre-29(!)) with original tools and presentation case.
Prior to that was an 8 3/8” 29-2 way back in 1976 which was my very first handgun purchase! Wish I still had that beauty…
