50 here and in October acquired a 3" 29-3 and November bought a new Marlin 1894 44mag. These go along with my 4",6.5",8&3/8" 29-2's. Also have 8&3/8" 629-3 and a 4"69. The 3" 29 at 10yds prints a quarter size clover leaf 6rd group fired double action with my handloads.

Like many here my first .44 mag purchase was a Ruger SBH . I bought it shortly after getting out of the Army in the early 80's to hunt deer. I'm 61 now and my last .44 mag purchase was a beautiful 5" mod. 29 classic. In all I have 6 .44 mag revolvers.
2- 629's
3- 29's
1- Ruger Super Blackhawk

Soon I'll be back on the hunt for a 4" mod. 29

I'll be 60 in a couple weeks.
Long before I bought my first .44 mag, I put a decent amount of rounds through a cousin's early 70's 29-2. Around the same time, my brother-in-law had a .44 mag. Ruger Vaquero. That plowhandle grip felt like a bomb going off in your hand compared to that 29 of my cousins.

Down the pike, I came into a good deal on my first. It was a Ruger Super Redhawk. Then came an unfired 29 Classic. Had to sell that later coz of money issues. Still hurts me to my heart when I think of it.

About a year later, in 2003, the opportunity to pick up a 629-4 Classic DX complete with everything showed up and I didn't care what I had to sacrifice, I was gonna cough up the $600 to buy it and did so, partially on the principle of having to have given up the 29 Classic previously. I still have that one and feel no need for anything else in that caliber, save for my Marlin 1894.

I posted once in this thread already. Last week I took delivery of a 629-2 Classic Hunter 3". Special factory run of 3200 guns. Always wanted a short barrel 44 mag. This one is not a safe Queen which is good because I intend to woods carry it and shoot it. It comes with rubber Pachs from the factory. That just won't do. I'm looking for stocks befitting a rare N frame round butt ( I'm talking to you Big MountainMan). It came with box and tools but no paperwork. Also , I'm 54.

I'm 64 and bought my first .44 mag when the CG first stationed me at Air Station Sitka, AK. It was common back in the day to carry a survival handgun in your flight bag or, in my case, under my flight suit in a shoulder holster. Ruger had a great gun program for what was considered an overseas base back in the late 70's. First was a Super Blackhawk then got a Redhawk when they first came out. Serial number was around 2600. Both those guns were too cumbersome under the flight suit. I came back to NH on leave around 81 and bought 4" & 8 3/8" 629 no dash. Sold the 8" to a CG pilot and carried the 4" for years, flying SAR, boating and hunting while stationed at Sitka and later Kodiak. Still have that 4" 629. I've added 6" and 8 3/8" 629 ND's as well as many others; Smiths, Colts and Rugers. My latest was a 4" Colt Anaconda. As a side note I traded the Redhawk off to guy in Sitka for an HK93, even.

I'm in my seventies and I've been shooting S&W 44 magnums since the seventies. Still have several M29 and M629's but I don't know how long I'll be able to continue to shoot 44 Magnums. At this time I still fire off several rounds in the M629's every time I go out plinking.
They are all pre-lock revolvers:

I'm 71 and have a number of Colt Anacondas, a S&W Model 29 Lew Horton edition and two Virginian Dragoon in .44 Mag. Add to that two Automags in .44AMP and a Marlin 1894S in .44 Mag.

thread back from the dead.

I bought my first when i was 18. Now I am 47 and have accumulated 13 smiths, 1 ruger and 2 rifles.

My favorites are the -3 and -4's. love em.

Bought my first 29-2 in 1973 when I was 21....sold it off in 1980 and didn't get back into .44s till about two years ago at age 70...

Now have a 629-5 Classic 5" and two 50s vintage Ruger 3-screw Flat Tops...one with a 4 5/8" barrel and one standard 6.5"...

Only one I would like to add is a Mountain Gun, -4, -5 or one of the new ones w/o The Hole....

I got my first 29, an 8 3/8" in 1971. Over the next two years I acquired a first year 4" and a new 6 1/2" 29-2. In addition a short time later I bought a used 3 screw Super Blackhawk. Last .44 magnum I bought.
I still have all four although I haven't fired them in probably 20 years.
I'm 76 years young and find what little shooting I do will find me with a .357 N frame in my hand more often than not.
I occasionally drag them out to appreciate the handwork that went into building each of these masterpiece hand cannons.
Last year my wife and I had our will updated. Because my son isn't into revolvers, I've specified that my entire collection is to be offered for sale to members of this forum before it goes out on the airways. Hopefully the next caretakers will enjoy owning these as much as I have.
