I’m into S&W N-Frame revolvers (and other brands) chambered in .45 Colt!
I’m VERY lucky to welcome a truly rare new addition to my modest collection, specifically the:
It features a VERY innovative Adjustable Barrel Weight System including:
This Adjustable Barrel Weight System was later offered on the L-Frame Series Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 686 Competitor.
Produced in 1997 at Smith & Wesson’s renowned Performance Center, word has it that approximately 200 of these revolvers were made with most sent to Germany, only around 50 remained in the US to be distributed by Lew Horton!
The front sight is a ramped blade with a red rear face dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch adjustable for windage and elevation.
This remarkable revolver also includes innovative optic mounting options!
The top of the barrel has an integral Weaver-style rail for mounting an optic and the topstrap is drilled and tapped (under the rear sight) to accept an optic mount.
I purchased a nickel/silver finish 2-7x32mm Burris handgun scope model 200298 with matching nickel/silver finish Burris Signature Rings model 420522 for my 27-year old, but new-to-me .45 Colt sixgun.
Finally, I ordered a super-cool set of handsome, oversized, checkered hardwood combat stocks/grips with finger grooves that were custom-made from Padauk wood in Thailand. They are bigger and longer than the original grips.
The new Burris optics and custom combat stocks/grips haven’t been delivered yet. Once they are delivered and installed, I will post updated pics.
Thank you for your consideration.
Kind regards,
Say When!
