I just finished replacing the sights on a Bodyguard 380 with XS Night Sights. The instructions say to remove the old sights using a brass drift punch. I couldn't get them to budge. Damaged several brass punches in the process. Finally, I used a heavy duty flat blade screwdriver instead of the brass punch, and the sights came right off.

I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but thought I'd pass it along.

Just replaced my sights this morning with Williams F/O. Like to never got the front off. Finally heated with a butane lighter and used every punch I had and then picked up a 1/4 inch bolt and that did the job.

I had taken mine to a gun shop a few weeks ago to have the front drifted to the middle. They couldn't budge it and were afraid of damage. I noticed they didn't heat it. It helped me.

I didn't heat the one I was working on. Was saving that as a last resort.

When I tried the screwdriver (it has a steel cap on the handle, so it's made to be used this way) the sight came off after just a hit or two.

Not sure if it required heat or just an even pressure on the dovetail.
