Greetings to all!

I've heard a few people on 6906 YouTube videos mention that there is a base adapter for the 12rd magazine that increases its capacity to 14 rounds.

To my understanding, this modification/adapter will still maintain the magazine's original length with its pinky extension. Unlike the Extended 17rd magazine from Mec-Gar that has a bulky base therefore extending the length of the grip both front and back leveling it out with the length of the pinky extension. I don't like this latter 17rd option because it decreases the 6906's great concealment dimensions.

Would appreciate any input on this Plus 2 magazine base adapter:
- Part No.
- Part description/name
- Part manufacturer/brand
- Where to buy it

Thanks in advance for your support in my inquiry!

For the 9MM and 356TSW firearms, the Factory used to offer the 14/15 round magazines with a spacer on the bottom of them for the various compact auto loaders (2nd from the left).

These are 100% reliable and have a pleasing look to them .

I have not seen any +2 base pads offered for the 12 round magazines from any of the aftermarket manufacturers

Grip adapter

The grip adapter (second from left in colt_saa's photo above) is/was manufactured by PGS, called the PGS grip adapter. It's meant for use on a full size 5900 series magazine (like the magazine third from left in the same photo).

Not sure their status these days, you might search for PGS, possibly some available on Ebay.

I have several of the "Grip Plus 2" adapters from PGS. I believe they are the same ones pictured above. Left to right in the pic below:

  • 6906 magazine
  • 5906 magazine with original plastic base plate
  • 5906 magazine with the adapter

Does Pearce make such an adapter?
I know I used the PGS adapters with my 669 and 6906 back in the late 1980s-early 90s for work. It's a great system and it does not alter the contours of those guns. If anything, it enhances them more than a blocky "+2" type adapter would. The only drawback, of course, is you need 5900 magazines to use them. Fortunately, there are still several places that have them, including here in the for sale page from time to time. PGS is still in business and still sells their adapters for $10 each. I bought 3 more a couple years ago when I picked up another 6906, and they are still made quite well. Highly recommended!
Be sure to take a look at the other stuff PGS makes.
