My favorite and always reliable M&P 22 Compact starting jamming up due to the spent casings not being extracted. I manually removed the casings and could not see anything wrong with them. I have examined the tip of the extractor and it seems intact and not excessively worn. The extractor moves freely and the spring moves it back in place when I pull it out from the bolt.

I have exhausted my troubleshooting know-how. Is there any other way to determine the problem and fix the issue?

I'd certainly take Erich'a advise and thoroughly clean the gun. If that works - great! If you are still having issues after the cleaning, the next thing I'd do is put a new extractor in. Sounds like it might be slipping of the cartridge.

Finally had a chance to address the M&P 22 Compact extraction problem. I normally just run a bore snake through the bore and lightly oil the pistol after shooting it about twice a month. Based on recommendations here, I soaked the chamber with carbon solvent and brushed heavily. Problem solved. Thanks for the suggestion.
