I believe that in January S&W announced that a BG sans thumb safety will be released. Not sure when. (And presumably you live in a state that would allow for that. Here in California it won't happen.) I'm sure some BG fans will have more info.

You're all very lucky. Here in California just about the entire M&P line is banned for purchase, unless you're LE (the Shield being the only exception I'm aware of).

I don't think you'll find many (any?) people here who will recommend a PC Shield for CC. You made a great choice and I'm very sure you'll enjoy it. Did you go with the thumb safety?
