What happens to the lube on a cast lead bullet when fired...Does it vaporize before leaving the bbl, melt some and travel with the bullet, break up and make those greasy specks on a close in target, burn up and cause the sooty smoke......I'd like to know.......Thanks...2#

    Less Felt Recoil With....

There's the answer...Pressure does not affect recoil...Thanks fredj338... If it were only a matter of recoil, I'd give her my mod 16 with 83gn wad cutters, there is also a wide choice of 22's.....But....She likes the little Ruger snub...She's put up with me for 39 years, what she'd like, I do my...

    Less Felt Recoil With....

This is Hodgdon's data, where is my "assumption" incorrect, I think we are saying the same thing. The wadcutter takes up more space or volume inside the case, leaving less space or volume for powder... With less powder in less space, the pressure is higher than more powder in a larger space or...

    Less Felt Recoil With....

    In 38 special... SP 101 x 2 1/4 bbl... For significant other... 148gn HBWC 2.0gn Trail Boss @ 625fps / 15,100psi -or- 158gn SWC 2.7gn Trail Boss @ 661fps / 11,400psi as/per Hodgdon Looks like less space in the case spikes pressure with less...

    Lee die help please.

Maybe too much flair with the powder drop..... The seating depth is adjusted by the screw...... The crimp is adjusted by the die height...... Might consider a Lee Factory Crimp Die..... Seat the bullet, then crimp it..... Post Script: Lee Precision has help Video's on their site.

    Trail Boss....Compressed?

Hodgdon/Winchester/IMR load data lists 6.0 - 7.3gn TB for 240gn SWC in .44 mag, looks like anything much over 6.4 is above where the bullet base will be when seated in a Win case.......Looking for 6.7.......The little Cheerios will settle just enough if I tap the case a few times, but as I...

38 Brass or 357 Brass for Model 66

"Bullet Jump" is another thing to consider. With certain guns chambered in .357, I find accuracy suffers when shooting .38's...... HBWC and DEWC groups open up at bullseye velocities......

    What did you shoot/reload today?

600 rounds of .32 H&R... Every now and then I'll have someone with a sharp eye walk behind my booth... Stop and wait till the cylinder's empty... Then say... That's not one of your 14's, and those are not .38's...

    Small game 357 mag loads

This may be totally off the wall...But...I have found almost any 148gn HBWC, plated or swedged to be very accurate...They will still fly when seated backwards...I know this because on occasion I will seat one backwards, won't pull it because it'll work... 148gn Hornady HBWC over 231 357...

    Unhappy with Accuracy

M657 - I shoot steel indoors in Ct. am the only shooter using a roller, everyone else using bottom feeders, tricked out race guns (Call them "Razors, and "Cats" and such) launching jacketed rounds down range at velocities where the bullet disintegrates on impact...The guys affectionately call...
