No shooting today, but finished batches of 357 Mag, 45 Win Mag, 9MM Win Mag, and 256 Win Mag. I'll bet I was the only one loading at least the last two.

I loaded up some .38 spcl. 139 gr button nose wc and 158 gr swc from bayou bullets.

139s over 2.8 of bullseye, 158s over 3.2 of bullseye
also
139s over 2.3 of clays, 158s over 2.9 clays

See how they shoot this week.

Shot a falling plate match yesterday with my S&W 1911, shooting the following recipe and they worked very well. Found this load is pretty accurate, but fairly dirty with the low charge or the Unique.

230gr Berry's plated
6.0gr. of Unique
CCI LP Primers
Remington Cases
1.265" OAL
.471" Crimp

Looking for good mid-range loads for the .44 mag. Tried 7.4 grs Tite
group under a 250 gr cast 429421 SWC with two primers, Rem 2 1/2
and CCI 300 in two guns, my 4" S&W 29-2 and 4 5/8" Ruger Vaquero.
No significant difference in the primers. S&W velocity ran 980 fps and
Ruger velocity was 1003 fps. Velocity at aprox 12 ft from muzzle.
Behind my house in the country avoiding the wind we had today
here in central IN.

.44 Special, 240 grain LSWC home cast via Saeco mold, 5 grains of Bullseye. Winchester brass and Federal primers. For my 629 via my Dillion Square Deal

Just finished up another 120 .45ACP. I use 6 grains of Unique and a 200 RNFP lead bullet. Nice load for my Sig and Glock. Sized and primed another 120 .45ACP shells.

Capt. Obvious - thanks for posting the pic of the button nose wadcutter. I have some that were gifted to me and wondered how they were supposed to look. I usually use the SWC as shown on the right.

Just finished 400 rounds of 38 Special> 158 LSWC 4.5 Unique and CCI standard primer. Shoot this practice load in all my 38s.

Some .41 magnum with 8.5gr of Unqiue and 210gr SWC.

Today... 3/16/12... I dropped by the range while out visiting church members. I enjoyed firing my 4" 28-2 using plain WWB .38 Special 130 gr. FMJ's. As I am being moved to a new pastoral assignment, I do not have my loading press set up. In fact, most of my gun and loading stuff is packed up for moving. But my favorite revolvers and some ammo have been left available. And today I made use of both! Next week, we'll see what we see!

Loaded 100 rounds of 38 special. 158 LSWC 3.0 Bullesye and CCI standard primer. Also loaded 5 rounds of 9mm 115 Hornady FMJ RN over 4.1 Bullseye. Trying to gradually work up a load for my Gen 4 Glock 17.

600 rounds of .32 H&R...
Every now and then I'll have someone with a sharp eye walk behind my booth...
Stop and wait till the cylinder's empty...
Then say...
That's not one of your 14's, and those are not .38's...

Loaded 225 rds of 32 H&R Mag today. 90 grain LSWC over 2.8 grains of W231. Great plinking round out of my 3" S&W 632 Pro Port.

Working up some 255gr. LSWC .45 Colt loads. Might settle on 11.2gr. HS6 with Win brass and Win primers.

About 850fps in 6" 25-5 at 5'.

25yd groups standing, two-hand, off-hand was 3".

Lighter loads smoked the cases. Heavier loads took groups above sight adjustments.
