Sights for SW1911 9mm Pro Series

First let me say that I really enjoy my 1911 Pro Series. Great weapon and very accurate. Problem is that I hate the sights. I like that the rear sight is adjustable, but what I don't like is that it doesn't have any "dots" and neither does the front. I have searched the web for replacements...

My favorite handgun 1911 Pro Series 9mm

I know that all the purists believe that 1911's should be 45's, but I can tell you with no doubt that the Pro Series 1911 9mm is an exceptional weapon. I am far from being anywhere near a "great" shot with a handgun, but this gun makes me look good. It feels good (a little heavy) fits my hand...

I have never had a problem with mine but I don't shoot competition either.

    Best Pocket Sized Auto

bought a P238 Sport and it came with a pocket carry holster. Holster needs to break in a little before it becomes really useable

    Red dot or scope?

Exactly!! About a year ago, "we" decided we needed a home defense weapon. So, I bought an SR9 and I caught the disease and we (I) now own 6 pistols and a M&P 15-22. It's a sickness I tell ya! But one that I hope I don't get cured of. LOL

    1911 Pro series 9mm

I have owned mine for about 8 months, and have a few hundred rounds through it and have to say I really like it. I am not an expert shooter by any means, but I shoot pretty accurately with it up to 25 yards. Haven't tried and longer distance yet. Gun works like a charm with no issues at all...

    New 1911 ?

I have a S&W 9MM Pro Series 1911, Ruger SR1911, and a Sig 1911 so I am sort of partial to 1911's. Just feel good in my hand.

    S&W 1911 Pro in 9mm

"It's really annoying to me. I hoped the gun might "settle down" as it was used and get away from the flyer problem. The trigger got quite a bit better - the flyer problem did not." My Pro Series 9mm doesn't have this problem but my SR9 does. It's all over the place. I hate it!

    S&W 1911 Pro in 9mm

Bought one and really like it. Not crazy about the sights, but I can live with it. I really like the 1911 frame and the 9mm is a great shooter. I have a Sig1911-22, 9mm Pro Series and an SR1911 45. Can't comment on the trigger pull except that it feels great to me.

Any sight options for a SW1911?

I bought a 9mm Pro Series and I too would like different sights but like mentioned above I'm not sure where to get them that will fit.

1911 Pro Series Going back to S&W

Thanks for all the reply's. Well, I am almost too embarrassed to tell you folks this, but, it was me and not the gun. I was trying to turn the adjustment screw with a very small screwdriver and after using one with a little more grip, I got it to turn. Just took a few clicks and it is dead on...

1911 Pro Series Going back to S&W

Took my 1911 Pro Series 9mm to the range yesterday and found that the rear sight adjustment screw will only turn three clicks in either direction and then binds up tight. Sent a note to S&W and they are giving me a return label to send it to them. Anybody else run into this?

    Right place right time

I have been looking all over the net for a 1911 Pro Series 9mm and walked into my LGS this afternoon and guess what they had. Yup! They had just got some in (don't know how many) and I couldn't believe it. Can't wait to get to the range tomorrow and give it a go. Right place right time. Still...

    Wally world shelves are bare

Same here in NW Oklahoma. No 22LR or 9MM anywhere. WalMart has been out for several weeks. Attwoods is out too.

    Pistol Grips on the 15-22

I agree, I just put one on mine and really like the feel of it vs the stock grip. But I must admit, if I had not read the thread about the two springs, I probably would still be crawling around on the carpet looking for them.

    All .22LR Ammo is gone?

My LGS charges about half again what Wal Mart charges. They also charge on average $100 more for guns then anyone else on line or in other places. So, why shop the LGS, and don't tell me because it supports the community which I wouldn't mind if they were reasonable. May be just "my" LGS...

    All .22LR Ammo is gone?

My Wal Mart has been out of Federal bulk 22LR and 9MM Federal 100 box for over 2 weeks. The person working there said he had no idea when they would get some in. Looks like to me that they are trying to withhold ammo from us. Not sure the who is, but beleive it's happening.
