Yes you can use them with or without moon clips, They make them that way for competitive shooters. They load and unload very fast. All of my 686s are moon clipped.

The Key difference with me is the ejector rod. I like the longer ejector rod on the 3" barrels.

Value It depends on which 646 you have. They made a PC model with slab side barrel that should bring close to a $1000.00 or better and a non PC model that has full lug heavy barrel which has been bringing between $700 & $800 on GB.

M-10s This is a 10-8 heavy barrel This is a 10-10 small barrel with full lug. These are round butts, but theolder 10-7 and older are square butts.

I paid $450.00 for the 10-8 and $500.00 for the 13-3 but the are both in very nice cond. and I don't feel bad at all. They are hard to find in that cond.

I would have loved to had bought them for your figures, but I didn't. I paid more but value is in the eye of the buyer. But I did get a good deal on the Brazilian M-10-10 3" with full underlug. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't.

The one one the left is a 10-8 and the one on the right is a 13-3 they are in the 98% range. I don't think the 10-8 has ever been fired. The 10-8 has no box but the 13-3 does have the original box. I really have no Idea what the 13-3 is worth. I paid more for the 13-3. What would be a ball park...
