Swapping out to an aftermarket GB is very easy, I wouldn't hack up my A2 sight, but that's just me. I prefer the look of the replacement GB with MBUS.

Phil, Watch the spring when you take the grip off. I think it was for the safety...I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong;) Hold pressure on the grip to the weapon and once you get the allen head bolt out, release the pressure and you'll see the spring. 5 minute job tops. Enjoy. ZT6
