Should I remove the A2 gas block and cut it down? Or should I just buy a low profile gas block?

If you don't plan on using it in the future, cut it down.
it truly is 6 of one a half a dozen of the other. My only problem with cutting it down is getting the metal sealed and the same color where no degradation will take place. I myself spent under $30 to replace it and have the ability to and do have buis in case I brake my optics in an acronym situation.

Swapping out to an aftermarket GB is very easy, I wouldn't hack up my A2 sight, but that's just me.
I prefer the look of the replacement GB with MBUS.

I just swithced mine out over the weekend. Thought the cut A2 would be the best bet but after slipping the low profile block on it was a beautifull smooth clean look, and easy to install. Yeah I have a visuble scar from the taper pin hole but once I get that cursed D-ring off the new hane guard will distract your eye.
