    New Microsoft Mischief

Turned on my computer this AM and the page was blocked by a full page from Microsoft, apparently forcing me to Continue and accept them linking my computer to my phone and more, although they forgot to add my thigh bone, ha! I escaped and got a 3 day delay by clicking a button, but then they'll...

Tombstone Territory (TV Show) and a Cowboy Question

Early Rangers made Paterson Colts famous, esp. in an 1840 battle against Indians. Later Colts and by the 1870's, Winchesters, later ones often being M-1895's in .30-40. Many carried SAA's and M-1911's until quite recently. Rangers bought their own guns and horses.

Pawn shop finds, Marble's Skinner and Buck 119

Knife magazines and the big Knives annual have ads by sheath makers. The annual often has a photo section. Addresses and summaries are in the index. But they may need the knife unless they own the same popular model. Randall, Buck, others can supply sheaths for theirs, although I think Puma is...

    Oh for goodness snakes

They're venomous, not poisonous. Not that I'm inclined to eat one... They're often aggressive, but so are non venomous water snakes. I wonder how vets treat venomous snakes or big constrictors. I wrote an article on a man with a pet store. He had a bad hand wound from an emerald tree boa...

I got an e-mail from that sender, warning that my computer has been compromised. Haven't opened it to read how. Has anyone else here gotten that or do you know the sender? How can I delete it without clicking on it? I think it's probably an attempt to invade my computer with a virus, etc. ??

    C frame model # 73

Only some French police guns had safeties. I think they were modified Model 10's.

Pawn shop finds, Marble's Skinner and Buck 119

The Buck is a normal option, laminated wood handle and brass in lieu of aluminum. I think recent Marble's knives are made in China. Pawn shops are often overpriced. I hope they didn't rob you.

    Mannix tv show

After the M-60 appeared, Helm' s agency switched to those, but his description of earlier guns did indeed seem to be the M-38. Good catch.

S&W .38 special age help, please!

Heat treating of cylinders didn't begin until 1921 or so. Someone here can post the serial no. I'd hesitate to use Plus P, let alone .38-44 ammo in your old gun. s&w doesn't warranty guns for Plus P until 1957 and later, bearing model numbers.

Tombstone Territory (TV Show) and a Cowboy Question

Elmer Keith discuussed Westerners he'd known and various gunfights they'd had in, Sixguns. He was born in 1899 if memory serves and knew such men in his youth. JimmyJ carried four guns on hazardous police duty. Few do, and I suspect Old West people were similar. In some states like Texas...

    Wifes and guns

Wives are often puzzling. Women overall vary a lot. I'm happily divorced, but some marriages do better, the really lucky ones. Good luck on your sale. Maybe she's afraid you sold one gun to buy another?
