I told my wife I was going to post this one to the forum.
After almost 50 years being married she really only gives me the stink eye occasionally when I buy a gun, but she took the cake today and I burst out laughing when she did.
A forum member had a WTB for a model 29 and I just happened to have just what he was looking for. Wasn't a gun that I had a great affinity for just a ANIB 29. Long story short we made a deal for the gun. Meanwhile back at the ranch I tell my wife this morning I'm selling the gun and she starts complaining about me doing that and I just started laughing and said " you complain when I buy one now your complaining when I sell one". I'm going to have to start checking my food I think she's thinking how much she can make after I'm gone....:D

Not a highjack, but a note about a wife, (I've only had one).

She has her own small collection of firearms, a 44 mag, nice detective special, and a couple of carry firearms. She don't complain about mine. :-)

Have a blessed day,

Leon

My wife usually makes no comment when I buy another gun. But she did hit me for buying he a second string of pearls! That was late 1999, right before Y2K. I told her she was getting a generator and snowshoes for Christmas. (I already had 2 generators!) Our son was home on leave, and still laughs every time she has pearls on around him!!

My bride doesn't complain. I never dip into to the family coffers and I never buy a gun on credit.

I buy good deals when I find them, even if its not something I'm looking for. I sell or trade them for something I want. Never pass up a deal.

On a couple of sad occasions I went to the safe and sold off several to cover some shortfall. Easy come, easy go.

I'm so blessed with mine :)

Every time I buy a new gun the wife says "why do you need another one". I explain its one I don't have and she just says hummph. Then I say "why do you need 7 horses, you can only ride one?" She says I love them all.

When I finally sell a gun she says "Don't sell it you love that gun". I say "well I don't need it any more and I want to take the $ and buy another".

Last year I spent a bundle on stuff for my boat. I told her I only spent half of what she spends a month on her horses." She said its OK, buy whatever you want."

50 years next June....she's a keeper.

It took me three tries before I found one that gets the whole gun thing. She's got a few of he own and she is a good shot, especially with an M-16. Here w/ family on a quail hunt and target shoot.

My wife doesn't say a word when I buy one and in fact she bought me a few over the years. Over the last 10 years I've actually sold more than I bought. I've still got plenty but decided to get rid of some of the ones I never used.
