    4506 price info

If it were me ANGST, I would be patient and find a better deal. Seems high for just the gun.

    4506 price info

Unless it looks like someone ran it through a chipper/shredder, I would think 350.00 is a solid deal. Word is getting out and these things are becoming more highly sought after.

Back from Gun show: 4506-1 with pics

Welcome to the 4506 brotherhood. You can't help but smile when you pull the trigger.

    New (to me) 5906

That's too bad Rod. Nothing worse than paying an extra premium(hand select) and not getting your money's worth. Sounds like CDNN may be literally scraping the bottom of the barrel with the 5906s.

The greatest S&W auto of all time is the 4506. You know it's true.

I could hear a chorus of angels singing when I scrolled down over that beauty! What a stunner:cool:

    4506 question, buying used

Unless it is really thrashed, that would seem to be a very good price. Most police trade ins have been carried a lot, shot a little. Field strip it and carefully inspect the internals. Check the barrel out to see if there is excessive wear. Make sure to ask if you can dry fire it--especially in...

Reliability: Does anything else BEAT a S&W 3rd Gen. auto?

I have a CZ75B that is close but even it choked a couple of times on WWB ammo. I have put over 1500 rounds through my 5906 & 6906 without a glitch. Most of the ammo was cheap stuff like WWB, S&B, and Fed.

    Picked Up My 4506 Today

Looks very nice indeed. Glad to see that this fine gun was rescued and is now getting the TLC that it deserves.

    Sometimes you just get lucky

    Very nice score--the 6904 looks hardly used:cool:

    4566 and 59 added to stable W/photos

Way to hit the daily double! Solid deal on both guns.

4506-1 New addition to the stable

I beleive that I read somewhere that the -* series were a little thicker in portions of the frame or rail and therefore a little heavier. I'm sure that one or more of the gurus here will chime in and set it straight. These guys know their Smiths:cool:

4506-1 New addition to the stable

Just a follow up as I finally got to run a few rounds at the range this morning. No big news here in the fact that it ate the box of Federal 230 without a single hiccup. When I slowed down and practiced good follow through, the rounds went where they were supposed to. Love the mild recoil and...

My new to me 4006 pistol.

Very nice--looks to be in superb condition. I've been keeping an eye out for one of these myself. Seems like this particular model is highly desirable and commanding a premium right now.

    Darn you 3rd gens!!!!

"Might I also remind everyone to please keep their enthusiasm contained to this forum. In fact, I encourage self-deprecation in public. "Man...I really wanted a better gun but all I could get was this S&W!". Let's conspire to keep them prices low until we all have our fill! LOL" Too funny! I...

    Model 559 Nickel

That is tough luck. The fact that the owner ended up screwing himself out of an extra c-note provides little comfort. There will be other opportunities so hang in there.

    Bait and switch...worked out well

Absolute killer deal. Hopefully you'll get another shot at a 59 soon.

    .40 S&W deal

That is good. Our local WackMarts are typically sold out or you can't find a name tag to get it for you. If the .40 ammo is anything like the 9, you should be pleased--especially for the price. You are getting USA made, brass cased ammo for essentially the price of the metal cased Russian stuff.

    Dumped Glocks for more Smiths

There's not enough Bavarian brew in all of Austria to make a Glock fondle worthy. S&Ws on the other hand can be fully appreciated while 100% sober. Seriously, I know Glocks have a good reputation but it's just so hard to convince your hands to touch something that your eyes are telling you to...

4506-1 New addition to the stable

Turned out that I was the final bidder for a change. Just picked her up yesterday. Overall great shape and looks to have been fired very little. Looking forward to seeing what it can do on my next trip the range. Gratuitous family pic from top L-R: 4566, 4506, 6906, 6904, & 5906 Yes, I am...
